Pilot exempting road transport lithium batteries for power and energy storage officially launched
On November 13, 2025, the "High-Quality Development of International Logistics Supply Chain for Power Battery" session of the 2025 World Power Battery Conference was held in Yibin. The conference officially launched the pilot project for conditional exemption of road transport for power and energy storage lithium batteries. Through scientific classification management, on the basis of ensuring transportation safety, some road transport qualification requirements for low-risk battery products are exempted, effectively releasing compliant transport capacity and resolving the contradiction between the "zero inventory" production mode and transport capacity shortage. Experts attending the conference unanimously agreed that as the conditional exemption pilot project progresses, and with the improvement of transportation standards, the application of technological innovation, and the expansion of international channels, China's international logistics supply chain for power batteries will accelerate towards a safer, more efficient, and greener direction.
