According to the Zhixingtong financial APP, Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A.US) issued a total of 210.1 billion Japanese yen (approximately 1.4 billion US dollars) worth of yen-denominated bonds on Friday. With global investors flocking to the Japanese market, the cost of borrowing this time was lower compared to the previous transaction. This issuance includes four tranches of senior unsecured bonds registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), with maturities ranging from 3 to 15 years, and a total financing size exceeding the previous issuance of 90 billion yen in April. At the time of the previous transaction, uncertainties were heightened due to the US-China trade tensions, leading to the company setting a record for the smallest yen bond issuance since its first entry into the Japanese market in 2019.
