The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs held a national on-site meeting in Changsha, Hunan Province to promote the revitalization of the seed industry. The meeting emphasized the need to enhance the sense of responsibility for the implementation of the seed industry revitalization action, concentrate efforts on solving difficulties, bridging gaps, strengthening advantages, and controlling risks, promote high-quality development of the seed industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, accelerate the realization of self-reliance and controllability of seed industry science and technology. It is necessary to accelerate the accurate identification of germplasm resources, vigorously promote the germplasm resource improvement plan; formulate and implement the modern seed industry promotion project for the "14th Five-Year Plan", cultivate breakthrough varieties urgently needed for production; strengthen the gradient cultivation of leading enterprises, and enhance their status as innovative entities; construct national seed industry bases to a high standard, enhance the level of modernization; strengthen the supervision of the entire variety chain, strictly protect seed industry intellectual property rights; strengthen agricultural and biological safety and technological security measures, and firmly guard the bottom line of seed industry safety.
