Hong Kong suspends the import of poultry and poultry products from certain regions in Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Canada.

The Centre for Food Safety of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced today that in response to a report from the World Organization for Animal Health on outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza in Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Canada, the Centre has immediately instructed the industry to suspend the import of poultry meat and poultry products from the affected areas to protect public health in Hong Kong.
