Closing of the stock markets in Japan and South Korea

Nikkei 225 index closed up 218.52 points, up 0.43%, at 51281.83 points; TOPIX index closed up 0.7% at 3,381.72 points. Korea Composite Stock Price Index rose by 0.70% to 4179.64 points.
