Longi climbed onto "Nature" twice in three days, setting two new world records for photovoltaic cells.
On November 10th and 13th, 2025, Longi Green Energy, in conjunction with multiple high schools, published two groundbreaking achievements in Nature. The first is a thin film silicon-perovskite tandem solar cell, with a small area efficiency of 33.4% and a commercial size flexible tandem solar cell efficiency of 29.8%, setting a world record for the first certified flexible tandem solar cell globally, suitable for lightweight photovoltaic applications such as space and automotive. The second is the HIBC cell, with a conversion efficiency of 27.81% and a fill factor of 87.55%, both setting world records. This structure was pioneered by a Chinese team, with complete independent intellectual property rights, and is compatible with existing production lines through key technologies such as laser-induced crystallization and edge passivation, promoting the industrialization of high efficiency solar cells.
