In October, the consumer price index in Jiangsu province rose by 0.2%.

According to the Jiangsu Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, in October, the consumer prices for residents in Jiangsu rose by 0.2% year-on-year. Among them, urban areas rose by 0.2%, while rural areas decreased by 0.1%; food prices dropped by 2.7%, non-food prices rose by 0.8%; consumer goods prices dropped by 0.3%, and service prices rose by 0.8%. From January to October, the consumer prices for residents in the province decreased by 0.4% year-on-year. In terms of the year-on-year changes in prices of various goods and services, in October, prices of shrimp and crab rose by 5.0%, fresh mushrooms rose by 4.3%, beef rose by 2.8%, freshwater fish rose by 2.5%; pork prices decreased by 17.3%, egg prices decreased by 16.0%, fresh vegetable prices decreased by 7.0%, and fresh fruit prices decreased by 1.1%.
