On November 13, Tu Guangshao, the founding chairman of the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and former executive vice mayor of Shanghai, delivered a keynote speech at the Taihu World Cultural Forum Qiantang Dialogue, stating that the carbon market has given rise to carbon asset forms, and the inclusion of carbon assets in the balance sheet is of important significance in promoting the optimization of green and low-carbon ecological systems. The inclusion of carbon assets in the balance sheet not only enriches the asset structure of enterprises, but also makes carbon asset management an important part of business development. Tu Guangshao described the current progress of the inclusion of carbon assets in China as "just showing the tips of the leaves" - maintaining a good development momentum, but the number of companies included in the balance sheet is not sufficient. He believes that improving the management capability of carbon assets in enterprises requires the effective expansion of the carbon market, the improvement of infrastructure, the enhancement of policy systems, the empowerment of professional services, and the optimization of ecological systems.
