Documents released by the House Democrats on Wednesday revealed that a former Treasury Secretary and a top Wall Street lawyer had exchanged emails criticizing President Donald Trump with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In an email exchange in October 2017, Lawrence H. Summers predicted to Epstein that the "world will collapse" under Trump. Summers served as Treasury Secretary from 1999-2001 and as President of Harvard University from 2001-2006. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released over 20,000 pages of documents belonging to Epstein's estate on Wednesday, including the aforementioned emails. Democrats on the committee posted some excerpts related to Trump. Ruemmler of Goldman Sachs communicated with Epstein in 2017 when she was a lawyer at the law firm Latham & Watkins. "Trump is gross," she wrote to him in February of that year. "In close contact in real life is worse," Epstein replied.
