The 2025 World Power Battery Conference opened yesterday in Yibin, Sichuan Province. The China Battery Industry Association and China Automotive Engineering Society released ten major innovative achievements and eight development trends. The ten major innovative achievements cover breakthroughs in the entire chain of power batteries, including the stability of the global supply chain of positive and negative electrode materials, the construction of zero-carbon factories, and the improvement of recycling systems, as well as the coverage of battery lifecycles by regulatory standards, and the promotion of mutual recognition of standards at home and abroad. Wang Jianxin, Vice Chairman of the China Battery Industry Association, stated that the Chinese battery industry has transitioned from running in tandem to taking the lead, with hundreds of achievements and thousands of foreign patents supporting its development. In the next step, the lithium battery industry will be widely used in energy storage, ships, artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, and other fields. The China Automotive Engineering Society released eight major trends, with materials innovation driving the development of power batteries towards high specific energy and high cost-performance ratio, the marketization of solid-liquid hybrid batteries accelerating, and the breakthrough of all-solid-state batteries and the commencement of industrialization demonstrations.
