On November 13, the Quanzhou Public Security Bureau in Fujian Province issued a reward notice, seeking information on illegal activities by Taiwanese internet celebrities Wen Ziyu and Chen Baiyuan. On March 26, Wen Ziyu and Chen Baiyuan were identified by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council as "Taiwan independence" henchmen. Investigations revealed that these two individuals have long been disseminating speech inciting separatism such as "resist China, protect Taiwan" and "rely on the US for independence", attacking and smearing mainland China's policies benefiting Taiwan, bullying and persecuting mainland spouses in Taiwan, acting as an extension of the internet army under the Democratic Progressive Party in Taiwan and the "vanguard" for anti-China forces in the West, causing serious harm. The public security authorities hope that Taiwanese compatriots can see the extreme danger and harm of "Taiwan independence" and take practical actions to distance themselves from separatist forces, actively providing relevant illegal activities information. Those who assist the public security authorities in apprehending the suspects will receive rewards ranging from 50,000 to 250,000 RMB, depending on the circumstances.
