Major European stock indices closed higher.

The European Stoxx 600 index rose by 0.71%. The UK's FTSE 100 index increased by 0.09%, Germany's DAX index rose by 1.22%, France's CAC 40 index increased by 1.11%, and Spain's IBEX index rose by 1.39%.
