As the regulatory environment in the European Union continues to tighten, over 80% of Chinese companies in Europe are experiencing increasing uncertainty. However, at the same time, Chinese companies are also showing strong resilience. The annual flagship report jointly released by the EU Chamber of Commerce in China and global management consulting firm Roland Berger shows that "uncertainty" continues to loom over European and Chinese companies, with 81% of surveyed companies believing that the current business environment in the EU is becoming more uncertain. The report shows that Chinese companies surveyed generally feel that the trend of the commercial environment becoming political is still ongoing. The intensive regulatory policies implemented by the EU have led companies into a "compliance maze", urgently hoping for a fair, transparent, and predictable EU market environment to rebuild business confidence.
