British Health Minister denies "forcing" Prime Minister, accusing Downing Street of spreading conspiracy theories.
British Health Secretary Wes Stringer on Wednesday morning denied rumors of plotting to replace Prime Minister Kyle Stammer in an interview with Sky News, but made a series of sharp criticisms of the latter's political operations. Stringer refuted allegations from Stammer's allies that he was trying to replace the Prime Minister as "not true," and accused the Prime Minister's aides of behaving like conspiracy theorists. Stammer's supporters on Tuesday tried to fend off concerns that Stringer might launch a leadership challenge, privately accusing him of plotting against the leader. As the Cabinet is about to announce a controversial budget in just a few weeks, the Cabinet infighting has become public. Stringer said that briefings against him "are coming from Downing Street," and described these actions as "completely counterproductive." He accused the Prime Minister's office of engaging in "self-destructive behavior," and said that he was shocked that Stammer's advisers were attempting to "undermine" senior Cabinet members.
