CATL's Chairman Zeng Yiquan: The company exported 116GWh of lithium batteries in the first three quarters, and invested over 15 billion yuan in research and development.
On November 12, 2025, the World Power Battery Conference opened in Yibin, Sichuan Province. Zeng Yuqun, Chairman of CATL, delivered a keynote speech, stating that electric vehicles, lithium batteries, and photovoltaics have become China's new pillars of exports. In the first three quarters of 2025, the total export value of the "new three items" reached 909.7 billion yuan, with lithium batteries accounting for 397.1 billion yuan, or 43.7%; the total export volume of lithium batteries reached 199GWh, with CATL accounting for 116GWh, or 58.3%. CATL has created 150,000 job positions in 13 global bases, with 30,000 employees in its Yibin base alone. In the first three quarters of this year, CATL paid 24.5 billion yuan in taxes, a significant increase compared to the previous year. Over the past 10 years, CATL has invested approximately 80 billion yuan in research and development, with research and development investment exceeding 15 billion yuan in the first three quarters of this year alone, and currently has nearly 50,000 patents issued or pending.
