The State Administration for Market Regulation has revoked 1557 mandatory product certification certificates.

Today, reporters learned that the General Administration of Market Supervision has recently implemented validity checks on mandatory product certifications. A total of 3001 batches of products in the field of mandatory product certification were subjected to validity checks, with a certification agency coverage rate of 73.5%. A validity check was also carried out on 123 batches of products in the field of low-voltage components and electric tools that were certified through self-assessment. The General Administration of Market Supervision has reported to relevant certification agencies the certified production enterprises and products found to be non-compliant with certification requirements during the checks, and has directed certification agencies to conduct quality traceability and risk assessments, with a focus on improving the quality and safety responsibilities of certified production enterprises, strengthening quality control of certification activities, and enhancing certification validity. In accordance with relevant regulations, certification agencies have revoked a total of 1557 certification certificates for certified production enterprises and products found to be non-compliant with certification requirements. For products found to be seriously non-compliant during the checks and had their certification revoked, certification agencies will not accept certification requests for these products within 6 months. Producers of products with revoked self-declarations will not be able to reapply for self-declaration within 6 months, and must cease production, importation, or sale of the products according to regulations, as well as conduct risk assessments and implement corrective measures.
