Wan Gang: In the first three quarters of this year, China's sales of power batteries reached 786 GWh, a year-on-year increase of 48.9%.
On November 12, 2025, the World Power Battery Conference opened in Yibin, Sichuan. Wan Gang, the chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, stated at the conference that in the first three quarters of this year, China's power battery sales reached 786GWh, with exports exceeding 129GWh, an increase of 48.9% and 32.7% respectively compared to the same period last year. Wan Gang emphasized the need to continuously explore the potential for improving the performance of liquid power batteries, and promote the innovative development of high safety, all-weather, and high energy density power battery formats. At the same time, attention should be paid to the technical breakthroughs in solid-liquid hybrid batteries and all-solid-state batteries, and the promotion of industrial applications. Currently, all-solid-state batteries are still in the research and pilot testing phase, and continuous efforts should be made to address key scientific and engineering challenges in industrialization.
