Wan Gang, Chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology: The overall development of solid-state batteries is currently in the research and trial phase.
On November 12th, the "2025 World Power Battery Conference" was held in Yibin, China Science and Technology Association Chairman Wan Gang stated that in the first three quarters of this year, China's power battery sales reached 786 gigawatt-hours, with exports exceeding 129 gigawatt-hours, showing a year-on-year increase of 48.9% and 32.7% respectively. He mentioned the market trend of solid-state batteries, with solid-liquid hybrid batteries leading in small-scale vehicle matching. It is necessary to overcome technical bottlenecks such as manufacturing costs, cycle life, and environmental adaptability to promote industrial application. Currently, all-solid-state batteries are in the research and pilot testing phase, and continuous efforts are needed to strengthen the research and development of key scientific issues and engineering challenges in all-solid-state batteries.
