Standardize e-commerce platforms for orderly competition, as multiple regions introduce "Double 11" compliance guidelines.
Recently, with the climax of the "Double Eleven" e-commerce shopping festival, market supervision departments in various places have specially held compliance guidance meetings to regulate and promote orderly competition among current e-commerce platforms. Recently, the Hubei Provincial Market Supervision Administration, together with the Provincial Committee on Cyberspace Affairs, the Provincial Public Security Department, and the Provincial Department of Commerce, held a compliance guidance meeting to focus on the upcoming hot promotions during "Double Eleven" and "Double Twelve", requiring platforms not to force merchants to choose between them, and not to use their dominant position to give themselves preferential treatment or maliciously suppress platform operators through technical means. Earlier, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Market Supervision Administration held an administrative guidance meeting for the 2025 "Double Eleven" online centralized promotion activities, clearly stating that platform enterprises are strictly prohibited from limiting merchants from participating in promotions on other platforms through contracts or technical means, and are not allowed to engage in behaviors such as "choosing one of two" or "big data price discrimination". E-commerce platform personnel have expressed to reporters that under the current background of boosting consumption and expanding domestic demand, e-commerce platforms play an important role, and both society and regulatory authorities have higher expectations for them.
