Ukraine claims to have attacked the Russian Saratov Refinery. Russia's energy revenue continues to be under pressure.
Ukraine claims to have launched a second attack this month on a key Russian oil refinery in the Volga region, with Kiev's military authorities continuing to carry out strikes on Moscow's refining industry as part of a strategy to reduce its energy revenue. Regional governor Roman Busargin stated that an unnamed industrial facility in the Saratov Zavodskoy region was damaged in a nighttime drone attack, but he did not provide further details. The Saratov refinery is located in the same area. The refinery has the capacity to process around 140,000 barrels of crude oil per day and is a key supplier of gasoline and diesel fuel to the densely populated western region of Russia. It has been the target of multiple drone attacks by Ukraine this year, the most recent one occurring on November 3rd. In recent months, Ukraine has stepped up its attacks on Russian oil infrastructure - from refineries to oil pipelines and offshore terminals - in an effort to reduce Moscow's energy revenue.
