Japanese financial giant SoftBank unexpectedly announced on Tuesday that it had sold its stake in NVIDIA in October for $5.83 billion. SoftBank had made a series of investments to establish its influence in the field of artificial intelligence, including NVIDIA, OpenAI, and Oracle. Due to the bullish market for tech stocks, SoftBank's Vision Fund division earned 3.5 trillion in investment income in the second quarter, with OpenAI contributing 2.16 trillion. SoftBank stated in its latest financial report that it will invest an additional $2.25 billion in OpenAI through Vision Fund 2 in December.
