After the Senate passed a temporary funding bill supported by eight moderate Democrats, the shutdown is expected to end as early as Wednesday. On Monday, the Senate passed the "Continuing Appropriations and Delay Prevention Act" with a vote of 60 to 40. However, the bill still needs approval from the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. House Speaker Mike Johnson stated that he expects the bill to be approved soon.
