On November 10, Li Chenggang, a representative for international trade negotiations and deputy minister, met with the Co-CEO of the American investment group KKR, Joseph Y. Bae, in Beijing. Li Chenggang stated that on October 30, the leaders of China and the United States held a meeting in Busan, South Korea. President Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of China and the United States being partners and friends, which is not only a lesson from history but also a necessity in reality. Since May this year, the economic and trade teams of both sides have held five consultations based on important consensus reached by the two leaders, reaching a series of agreements and promoting the stabilization of China-US economic and trade relations. China looks forward to working with the United States to implement the relevant results in order to inject more stability and certainty into China-US economic and trade cooperation and the world economy.
Li Chenggang pointed out that China continues to promote high-level opening up to the outside world, actively aligning with international high-standard economic and trade rules, focusing on expanding market access in the service industry and opening up new areas, which will bring new investment opportunities for companies from all countries, including American companies.
Joseph Y. Bae expressed that the American business community supports maintaining contact and dialogue at all levels between China and the United States, which is beneficial for practical cooperation between the two sides. KKR investment group attaches importance to the Chinese and Asian markets, adheres to a long-term investment strategy, and has full confidence in the long-term performance of the Chinese economy.
