NVIDIA CEO Huang Renxun responded to the claim that AI is similar to the "Internet bubble" by stating that the current computing demand is very real and completely different from the Internet era. The similarity between AI and the Internet bubble lies not in the core technology or the impact of technology on the industry, but in stock valuations and the "crazy returns" that individual investors have seen in the past. Huang Renxun mentioned that during the Internet bubble, most of the fiber optic cables were dark fiber, meaning that the amount of fiber optic cables laid out in the industry far exceeded the actual demand. Today, almost all GPUs are being utilized. Huang Renxun stated that AI has made tremendous progress, but mainstream consumers still believe that the ultimate form of this technology is ChatGPT or image generation applications. AI has developed to the extent of "being able to think effectively and self-verify through research," but this form of technology has not yet been widely adopted by the public. He pointed out that the company's computing demand is not only growing exponentially, but also the number of queries being generated is increasing, indicating that the demand is real and not artificially created.
