The Zhongguancun New Battery Technology Innovation Alliance said that leading battery companies are operating at full capacity and some orders are already scheduled for early next year.

On November 11th, at the 12th China Battery New Energy Industry International Summit Forum, Yu Qingjiao, chairman of the Zhongguancun New Battery Technology Innovation Alliance, said that by 2025, the global target for new energy vehicle production and sales is expected to reach 22 million units, with China's new energy vehicle production and sales predicted to exceed 16 million units. In the field of energy storage, China's new energy storage installation scale continues to lead the world, with rapid growth in the industrial and commercial energy storage and household energy storage markets. As of the first half of 2025, the national new energy storage installation scale has reached 94.91 million kilowatts, an increase of approximately 29% compared to the end of 2024. Currently, domestic demand for energy storage battery cells is strong, and leading battery companies are already operating at full capacity, with some orders already booked until early next year. According to the goals set out in the Special Action Plan for Large-scale Construction of New Energy Storage, by 2027, China's new energy storage installation scale will exceed 180 million kilowatts, driving approximately 250 billion yuan in new project investments.
