Regarding the rumor about the new rule on Douyin that "selling Maotai below market price will be penalized, even if the influencer subsidizes it themselves", the relevant person in charge of Douyin e-commerce stated that the rumor is not true and is a misunderstanding. The Douyin e-commerce team discovered in their daily inspections that some merchants were selling Maotai and other alcoholic beverages at prices lower than the official factory price, which cannot be explained by slim profits and high sales volume. Considering that alcoholic beverages are related to consumer health, Douyin e-commerce has taken measures against these merchants and influencers selling at abnormally low prices. Currently, the platform has banned over 100 abnormally low-priced products and restricted 52 merchants from operating.
