According to the Smart Finance News APP, William Williams, the third in command at the Federal Reserve and president of the New York Federal Reserve, stated that while wealthy households in the United States are benefiting from the booming stock market, the financial pressure on low- and middle-income Americans could threaten the resilience of the U.S. economy. He said that the Federal Reserve's next interest rate decision in December "is indeed a balancing act". He pointed out, "Inflation remains high and there is currently no sign of it dropping", but at the same time, "the U.S. economy is showing some resilience".
