Our country has initiated a level four emergency response to marine disasters.
Due to the impact of Typhoon "Phoenix" this year, it is expected that a disastrous wave process will occur in the East China Sea and South China Sea from November 9th to 13th. The National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center has issued an orange alert for waves. According to the "Emergency Plan for Marine Disasters", the Ministry of Natural Resources has decided to activate a level IV emergency response for marine disasters at 9:00 on November 9th. The natural resources authorities in Fujian and Guangdong provinces and other affected areas, as well as the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center, the Marine Disaster Reduction Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the East China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the South China Sea Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources are required to organize emergency monitoring, consultations, forecasting, warning, disaster investigation, and assessment. Due to the impact of this typhoon, the wind is strong and the waves are high in the northern and central regions of the South China Sea, resulting in poor marine conditions. It is advised that ships operating at sea stay away from dangerous areas, and relevant coastal units should take preventative measures against waves in advance.
