Rodrigo Paz Pereira was sworn in as President of Bolivia.

On November 8th, local time, Rodrigo Paz Pereira was sworn in as the new president of Bolivia in the administrative capital of La Paz. Paz is 58 years old and has previously served as the mayor of Tarija City in southern Bolivia and as a senator in Tarija Province. On October 19th of this year, he won the presidential election by defeating the right-wing "Free" Alliance candidate and former president Jorge Quiroga in the second round of voting.
