The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the 8th that Russian armed forces carried out a large-scale attack on Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises and associated energy facilities using high-precision weapons during the night of the 7th to the early morning of the 8th. The targets were all hit. The report stated that the high-precision weapons used by the Russian side included "Dagger" hypersonic ballistic missiles. Russian air defense systems shot down 178 Ukrainian drones and 2 guided aerial bombs over the past day and night. According to information released on the 8th by the Ukrainian Air Force and various government agencies, Russian forces launched large-scale missile and drone attacks on Ukraine overnight from the 7th to the 8th, causing damage to energy and railway facilities in Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and other regions. Multiple areas including Kyiv, Kyiv Oblast, and Kharkiv Oblast experienced emergency power outages. As of the morning of the 8th, the attacks had resulted in 4 deaths. The Ukrainian National Power Company also stated on social media that due to the airstrikes, several regions in Ukraine were experiencing emergency power outages with industrial users continuing to implement power restrictions. The Ukrainian National Oil and Gas Company also stated on social media that this round of attacks was the ninth large-scale attack by Russian forces on Ukrainian energy infrastructure since October. Industrial facilities responsible for providing natural gas and heating were targeted and production facilities were damaged.
