Ministry of Commerce Spokesperson answers questions from reporters on ASML Semiconductor issue.
A journalist asked: Recently, Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Kaaliamans posted a statement on his personal social media account regarding the ASML semiconductor issue. What is the Ministry of Commerce's comment on this?
China has taken note of the statement made by Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Kaaliamans on November 6th, but so far has not seen any concrete actions from the Dutch side to stop infringing on the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies and to restore stability to the global semiconductor supply chain. China, with a responsible attitude towards the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain, announced on November 1st exemptions for relevant exports that meet certain conditions, and believes that the root cause and responsibility for the current chaos in the global semiconductor supply chain lies with the Dutch side. China hopes that the Dutch side's statement will not only be limited to words, but that they will quickly propose constructive solutions and take practical actions to quickly and effectively restore stability to the global semiconductor supply chain from the source, as well as to stop using administrative means to interfere in and intervene in internal business matters, and to push for an early resolution to the ASML semiconductor issue. China agrees to the request from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to send a delegation to negotiate in China.
