Wang Yi meets with Georgian Foreign Minister Bichlashvili

On November 7, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Georgian Foreign Minister Bochorishvili in Beijing. Wang Yi stated that China and Georgia are good friends and good partners. Georgia is China's first strategic partner in the Caucasus region and the first country in Eurasia to establish a free trade arrangement with China. Over the 33 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Georgia, friendship and cooperation have always been the main theme of bilateral relations. Both sides have respected and trusted each other, mutually benefited, and promoted healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, yielding fruitful results in various fields of cooperation. China has always viewed and developed its relations with Georgia from a strategic height and long-term perspective, and is willing to consolidate strategic mutual trust, carry on traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote greater development in China-Georgia relations. Wang Yi mentioned that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee was successfully held, deliberating and approving the proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan. Scientific formulation and successive implementation of five-year plans are important practices of the CPC in governing the country and unique advantages of socialism with Chinese characteristics. China will further deepen reform comprehensively, expand high-level opening-up, accelerate the building of a new development pattern, and promote Chinese-style modernization with high-quality development. China will open up to the outside world in a larger scope, wider areas, and deeper levels, promote the construction of an open world economy, and benefit people of all countries. China is willing to strengthen strategic alignment with Georgia, tap into cooperation potential, expand cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, connectivity, and cultural exchanges, promote high-quality cooperation in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, share development opportunities, and achieve common prosperity.
