State Administration of Foreign Exchange: China's current account surplus was 1.3948 trillion yuan in the third quarter.

According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics app, on November 7, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange announced the preliminary figures for China's international balance of payments for the third quarter and the first three quarters of 2025. In the third quarter of 2025, China's current account surplus reached 1.3948 trillion yuan, with a merchandise trade surplus of 1.9213 trillion yuan, a service trade deficit of 352 billion yuan, a primary income deficit of 232.4 billion yuan, and a secondary income surplus of 57.9 billion yuan. The capital and financial account (including net errors and omissions for the quarter) had a deficit of 1.3948 trillion yuan, with net inflows of direct investment into China.
