The Indonesian Ministry of Mining evaluates the fatal mudflow incident in the Grasberg Freeport.

An Indonesian Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources stated on Friday that the ministry is assessing the fatal accident that occurred at the Grasberg copper and gold mine operated by Freeport Indonesia. The purpose of the assessment is to determine the cause of the accident in September, as well as to determine if there was any negligence that led to the disaster. Once the assessment is complete and deemed safe, Freeport will be allowed to resume operations.
