The Bank of England kept interest rates unchanged as scheduled, removing the cautious tone to pave the way for a rate cut in December.
According to the Zhitong finance and economics APP, the Bank of England voted with a slight majority to maintain the interest rate at 4%, laying the foundation for a rate cut in December. Five members of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee voted to maintain the policy unchanged, with Governor Bailey's vote playing a key role; four other members called for a 25 basis point rate cut to 3.75%, leading to a more dovish result than expected. The Bank of England stated that the inflation rate of 3.8% in September is "likely to be the peak."
