According to the Zhtng Cijng APP, Indonesia, the world's largest nickel producer, has stopped approving applications for the production of certain intermediate nickel ore processing plants. This is a new measure by Indonesia to promote the value added in the industrial chain. According to the Indonesian government's instructions, industrial permits (IUIs) will not be issued to new projects that plan to produce certain intermediate products (including nickel pig iron/NPI, mixed nickel-cobalt hydroxide/MHP, etc.) but do not intend to further process them.
