Investors continue to monitor how Apple's shift to in-house modems will impact Qualcomm's business. Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon stated in a report to clients that Apple may be using their own chips in the iPhone Air and iPhone 16e models, but will still use Qualcomm chips in the iPhone 17 series, which will help alleviate the impact on Qualcomm. Qualcomm stated in securities filings on Wednesday that Apple, Samsung, and Chinese company Xiaomi each account for over 10% of their revenue. Qualcomm supplied all the chips for Samsung's latest Galaxy S25 series, but Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said that the company is prepared for a decline in market share in Samsung's next generation of products. Amon said, "Regarding the Galaxy S26, our plan is 75% - that's our expectation." He confirmed that Qualcomm is collaborating with Samsung on chip manufacturing, producing some Qualcomm chips using 2 nanometer technology, but he refused to disclose the product name that Samsung will manufacture. Qualcomm expects chip revenue in the first quarter to range between $10.3 billion and $10.9 billion, with the midpoint of the forecast range surpassing market estimates of $10 billion.
