Turkish President Erdogan stated on the 5th that Turkey's peace process with the Kurdish Workers' Party is entering a "decisive stage." Erdogan made the remarks during a meeting of the parliamentary group of the ruling Justice and Development Party, in response to the announcement by the Kurdish Workers' Party on the 26th of last month that they would withdraw all armed forces from Turkish territory. He called for national unity and urged all sectors of society to work towards the peace process. Erdogan said that last week he had a "very constructive meeting" with senior members of the People's Democratic Party, the third largest party in parliament and a pro-Kurdish party, hinting that he himself has an open attitude towards the idea of allowing the imprisoned leader of the Kurdish Workers' Party, Abdullah Ocalan, to address the members of parliament.
