Wang Yi spoke by phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi.

On November 5, 2025, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Aragchi. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the Iranian nuclear issue. Wang Yi emphasized that China has always maintained an objective and impartial stance on the Iranian nuclear issue. At present, the political process to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue has reached a deadlock, which is not in line with the common interests of the international community. China appreciates Iran's recent reiteration of its intention not to develop nuclear weapons, supports Iran's right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, and hopes all parties can maintain dialogue and communication to push the Iranian nuclear issue back to the track of dialogue and negotiation. Aragchi sincerely thanked China for adhering to a just stance and playing an active role in the Iranian nuclear issue, expressing Iran's willingness to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
