The Import Expo has introduced overseas payment services in Shanghai, and the number of transactions made with WeChat Pay by overseas users in China has surged by 160%.

On November 5, the 8th China International Import Expo opened. This Expo will have participation from 155 countries, regions, and international organizations, with 4,108 overseas companies exhibiting. The total exhibition area exceeds 430,000 square meters, reaching a new high in scale. WeChat Pay data shows that in October of this year, the number and amount of transactions made by foreign users in China using international bank cards bound to WeChat doubled, with a year-on-year increase of 130% and 120% respectively. In the Shanghai area, the number of transactions in October increased by 160% compared to the same period last year. In terms of scenes, the growth in supermarkets, tourism, food and beverage, and transportation industries is rapid, with the transportation industry seeing a growth of over 3 times year-on-year.
