Apple is reported to release its first low-cost MacBook next year in response to strict control of offline channels in China.
In order to deal with this situation, Apple will "make moves" from both product and channel perspectives: In terms of products, Apple was recently exposed to release a foldable screen iPhone Fold and a low-priced MacBook with the codename "J700" in 2026. The former may be priced at less than 16,000 yuan, while the latter may be priced at less than 7,100 yuan. According to informed sources interviewed by "BUG" column, this information is generally true. In terms of channels, Apple recently issued a notice requiring all offline authorized dealers not to cooperate with any e-commerce platforms, and the compliance commitment letter mentioned that violations may lead to authorization cancellation. This move is also seen by the outside world as a strong measure by Apple to stabilize prices and channel order. Apple's official customer service team told the "BUG" column: "Online and offline have always been separate, and the sources of goods are also independent. Online does not need to supply goods offline."
