Mainland Taiwan Affairs Office: There will be no markings on documents for Taiwanese people coming to the mainland
The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference on the morning of November 5th, with the new spokesperson Zhang Han making his debut and answering questions from reporters. One reporter asked about the new policy announced by the National Immigration Administration on November 3, which will expand the number of ports issuing one-time valid Taiwan resident permits for travel to the mainland starting from November 20th, including adding 42 immigration checkpoints such as Tianjin Port, to facilitate the application for one-time valid Taiwan resident permits for Taiwan residents without valid immigration documents. The spokesperson commented that Taiwan compatriots are our close relatives, and we always value their opinions and suggestions, striving to create convenient conditions for Taiwan residents to travel to the mainland, bringing the compatriots from both sides closer. Recently, the immigration department announced that starting from November 20th, the number of ports in mainland China issuing one-time valid Taiwan resident permits will increase to 100. If Taiwan compatriots want to have a spontaneous trip without obtaining a permit in advance, they can simply bring their Taiwan region immigration documents and ID cards to travel to the mainland from anywhere in the world by plane or ship, and apply for a permit upon arrival, receiving it within 30 minutes. With this permit, they can travel in mainland China for 3 months. If they need more time, they can apply for a 5-year valid card-style Taiwan resident permit at any county-level immigration department, which can be obtained in as short as 4 days after submitting the application form and necessary documents. Taiwan compatriots can also apply for the card-style permit through local travel agencies in Taiwan, enabling them to travel to and from the mainland anytime within 5 years without needing any additional procedures. For first-time visitors from Taiwan to the mainland, not only is the permit application free, they can also visit over a thousand scenic spots for free. Traveling to the mainland for Taiwan compatriots is not only convenient but also safe. There will be no markings on their documents during visa issuance or immigration control. The relevant departments in mainland China strictly and effectively protect the personal information security of Taiwan residents in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. Through the above introduction, we believe that everyone has gained a full understanding of the convenience and information security of Taiwan residents traveling to the mainland, as well as felt the sincerity and goodwill of mainland China. Family members should visit frequently, and we warmly welcome all Taiwan compatriots to come and experience the reality of mainland China, and feel the deep friendship and affection of mainland compatriots.
