On November 4th, local time, Brazilian President Lula signed a bill to temporarily move the capital from Braslia to Belm during the 30th session of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change from November 11th to 21st, 2025. The Brazilian government stated that this temporary relocation of the capital is symbolic and political, highlighting Brazil's commitment to global climate issues and reinforcing the importance of the Amazon in the international environmental agenda. During this period, all decrees issued, including those of the President and various ministers of the Republic, will be registered in Belm, and the executive, legislative, and judicial branches can carry out their institutions and government activities in the city of Belm.
