A Chinese company led the operation, the giant oil field in Iraq's crude oil processing facility officially started operation.

On November 2, the commissioning ceremony of the Iraq West Qurna-1 oil field crude oil processing facility OT2/3, led by China Petroleum, was held in the southern city of Basra in Iraq. After the facility is officially put into operation, the daily processing capacity of the oil field's crude oil will be increased from 600,000 barrels to over 800,000 barrels, marking the entry of the oil field into a new stage of high-quality development. The West Qurna-1 oil field is one of Iraq's giant oil fields, located about 50 kilometers northwest of Basra. The OT2 and OT3 crude oil processing facilities commissioned this time are one of the largest new production processing facilities in the main oil fields in southern Iraq, widely using new technologies and processes such as subsonic smokeless flares, high-modular green construction technology, etc., leading and promoting efficient, intelligent, and low-carbon development of Iraq's oil fields.
