Starting from November 1st, the optimized policy for duty-free shopping on Hainan's outlying islands is officially implemented. According to data from Haikou Customs, on the first day of the implementation of the new duty-free policy, the amount of duty-free shopping was 78.549 million yuan, an increase of 6.1% compared to the day before the policy was implemented, showing the initial effect of the policy. After the implementation of the new policy, two new categories of goods have been added: pet supplies and portable musical instruments, bringing the total number of categories to 47. At the same time, adjustments have been made to three major categories of goods, adding specific types of goods, including adjusting the previous category of "wearable electronic consumer products" to "electronic consumer products", and adding two new types of goods within this category: digital photography and videography equipment and accessories, as well as mini drones. Additionally, six categories of domestic goods are now allowed to be sold in duty-free shops on the outlying islands, with added value tax and consumption tax refunds. With the addition of new categories of goods, duty-free shops in Hainan are constantly introducing new products. At Haikou International Duty-Free City, a new "Good Goods Market" has been opened, focusing on selling new categories of goods such as pet supplies, musical instruments, small home appliances, photography equipment, as well as Chinese brands of tea, coffee, and other products, attracting many customers to one-stop shopping.
