On November 3rd local time, the Dominican government announced that after careful analysis of the situation in Latin America and the Caribbean, the 10th Summit of the Americas, originally scheduled to be held in the country in December, has been postponed to 2026. The 10th Summit of the Americas was originally scheduled to take place in early December in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican government had previously announced that, in light of the current political polarization, the country has decided to prioritize the success of the meeting, and therefore did not invite Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua to attend this summit. However, the Dominican government emphasized that it maintains active and friendly diplomatic relations with these three countries. In response, countries like Colombia and Mexico have stated that they will not attend the Summit of the Americas because Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua were not invited.
