Former director of the Guizhou Province Office of National Defense Science and Technology Industry, Li Gang, has been expelled from the Communist Party and dismissed from his position.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the National Supervisory Commission website reported on November 4th that, according to the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision has initiated an investigation into the serious disciplinary and legal violations of Li Gang, former deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial Committee Military-Civil Fusion Development Office and former director of the Provincial Defense Science and Technology Industry Office.
After investigation, it was found that Li Gang had lost his ideals and beliefs, deviated from his original intentions and mission, and obstructed organizational inspections. He violated the Eight-Point Regulations of the Central Committee by accepting gifts and hospitality that could affect the impartial execution of official duties, and engaged in power-for-money exchanges, using his authority and position for personal gain in project bidding and obtaining reward funds, as well as illegally accepting substantial amounts of money. Li Gang's serious violations of political discipline, severe breach of duty, and suspected bribery crimes after the 18th Party Congress were not restrained and continued, with serious nature and adverse effects, warranting serious punishment.
In accordance with relevant provisions of the "Disciplinary Measures of the Communist Party of China," the "Supervision Law of the People's Republic of China," and the "Administrative Sanctions Law for Public Officials of the People's Republic of China," the Guizhou Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection decided, with the approval of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, to expel Li Gang from the Party, dismiss him from public office, confiscate his ill-gotten gains, and transfer his suspected criminal offenses to the procuratorial organ for examination and prosecution, along with the confiscated assets.
