North Korea will hold a state funeral for Kim Yong-nam, former chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly.
According to the report of the Korean Central News Agency on the 4th, Kim Yong-nam, former chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea, passed away on the 3rd due to illness at the age of 97. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited to pay his respects in the early hours of the 4th. The Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the State Affairs Commission of North Korea, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of North Korea, and the North Korean Cabinet have decided to hold a state funeral for Kim Yong-nam. A national funeral committee consisting of 100 people including Kim Jong-un, North Korean Cabinet Prime Minister Park Tae-song, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly Choe Ryong-hae was formed. The national funeral committee stated that Kim Yong-nam's body will receive condolences from 9 am to 7 pm on the 4th, and the funeral will be held at 9 am on the 5th.
