Zhou Liang, Deputy Director of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, stated at the 2025 International Financial Leaders Investment Summit on November 4th that Mainland China and Hong Kong should strengthen cooperation in the fields of technology, green finance, inclusive finance, elderly care, and digital finance. He emphasized leveraging Hong Kong's advantages in technology innovation and intellectual property protection, enhancing the international role of digital currency and electronic payments, supporting Hong Kong institutions to deeply participate in Mainland China's technology finance and digital finance practices, and promoting a virtuous cycle of technology, industry, and finance. He mentioned the need to learn from Hong Kong's advanced experience in the insurance sector to promote the development of Mainland China's pension finance. Additionally, he called for strengthening cooperation and regulatory alignment in green finance between Mainland China and Hong Kong, providing more Chinese examples and experiences for global green and low-carbon transformation, and actively participating in international financial governance.
