Under pressure from US Treasury bonds, affected by news in the morning session that Google's parent company Alphabet is seeking to issue a huge corporate bond. The $17.5 billion bond issuance plan, divided into eight parts, includes 30-year and 50-year bonds. After the October ISM manufacturing index was weaker than expected, the US bond briefly narrowed its losses. Just after 3 p.m. New York time, US bond yields rose by 2 to 4 basis points intraday, the yield curve steepened, and the 5s30s spread widened by about 1 basis point. The 10-year Treasury yield briefly rose 4 basis points to 4.12%, closing near 4.11%. Alphabet's bond issuance was initially expected to be $15 billion, following Meta Platforms Inc.'s issuance of $30 billion in bonds last week, the largest high-grade bond issuance in the US this year.
